Lift My Eyes [36”x24”, acrylic]

DSCN4185Last post I called the beginnings of this painting “Half Surrendered?” but I’ve since turfed that oxymoronic moniker.  “Lift My Eyes” describes the journey from confusion to clarity, which is ultimately found in the Son.  A pilgrim on this journey might enjoy the things found here and now, the beauty found in earthly life.  But eventually, after much experience with the trickery of these passing comforts, the road seems clearer, higher, and brighter, the hills more regal, and the Son more lasting.  All the pilgrim needs to do is lift their eyes to the hills [Pslam 121].

Enjoy!
